Spring

Things have been relatively quiet here, which is lovely. Quiet in the sense that we've been at home and able to enjoy our regular routines, with a few fun changes. One such change was Dave's ski trip to British Columbia in March, and Grandma's visit to San Francisco (which were timed to coincide).

Maisy and Grandma love Crissy Field.

Maisy and Grandma did a lot of art together. While Grandma was here Maisy made this picture, which later became part of a book "illustrated by Maisy with words [transcribed] by Grandma Susan."

(More on Dave's ski trip in another post.)

Not long after Grandma left us, we enjoyed a visit from my Aunt Lois. When I explained to Maisy that Lois was technically her Great Aunt, Maisy insisted that she was her Great White Aunt. Maisy has been a little obsessed with sharks, Great White and otherwise, as well as other sea creatures! (I am sure it was a compliment.) In keeping with her interest in the ocean, one afternoon we drove down the beautiful San Mateo County coastline to Pescadero, where we visited Pigeon Point Lighthouse. We hoped to see some whales; alas, we did not.

Otherwise, we did finally have a rainy stretch, but not for long.

  1. Maisy's artwork is perfection. Tell me you are cataloging it somehow! (Also, what an intense compliment - Great White Aunt Lois should be so proud.)
