Poor Buster. On Saturday afternoon, both of his front paw pads were injured. There are big tears in his large metacarpal pads (think: bottom of a paw print, or heel of your own hand). Ouch! Although this is sad to see and certainly uncomfortable for Buster, we're glad it's only his paw pads. When Buster started hobbling around and didn't want to walk, we feared a torn tendon or ligament!

To prevent infection and facilitate healing we have to keep debris out of the open wound, much like you would do for yourself if you lost a chunk of skin from the bottom of your foot. Our Buster isn't really down with a gauze bandage 24/7, which isn't much of a problem while he lays around in the house. But dogs need to go outside to do their business.

What to do?

Thankfully, Maisy is happy and proud to help Buster.

Yes, Buster is wearing Maisy's socks. "Maisy share my socks with Buster." Pretty sweet, huh? Just don't tell the other dogs...
